Mobile Virtual Reality
Developed an application with a group of fellow students for our client, Kenny Mitchell. Our brief was to develop an application that simulated the effect of 3D vision by simply using the 2D screen and gyroscopes on a mobile device. No external glasses could be used.
Our final application can be seen in the above video or here on youtube, demonstrating the 3D effect we desired. The technique we used is known as the offset projection matrix technique and involves distorting the view frustum of the camera based on movements of the mobile device. The application was created for Android devices but the code also functions on iOS devices.
